Maseru– The Revenue Services Lesotho (RSL) launched its new e-payment solution, Ecocash, in partnership with Econet Telecom Lesotho (ETL). This innovative platform is set to transform the tax payment process, making it simpler and more accessible for the people of Lesotho.
Speaking at the launch, Commissioner General of RSL, ‘Mathabo Mokoko highlighted the importance of this new service in the country’s digital journey. “It is with great pleasure that I officially declare the launch of our new e-payment solution in partnership with Econet Telecom Lesotho’s Ecocash. This marks a significant milestone in our journey towards digital transformation and improved service delivery.”
The Ecocash initiative follows the successful integration of Vodacom Mpesa, which has already significantly changed how clients interact with RSL. The positive response to Mpesa has set high expectations for Ecocash.
The collaboration with ETL to integrate Ecocash into RSL’s e-payment system showcases a strong commitment to innovation and convenience. This new service aims to simplify the tax payment process, making it more user-friendly and accessible, especially for those in remote areas.
“By leveraging mobile technology, we are not only keeping pace with global trends but also ensuring that our services are more inclusive,” stated Mokoko
She further showed that their clients can now file their taxes online, access various tax services, and obtain necessary certificates without the need to visit their offices.
