‘This wall is a cornerstone of our pride’ King Letsie III on Pioneer Mall Wall of Heritage

On Friday evening, King Letsie III unveiled a Heritage Wall, a wall on Pioneer Mall dedicated to the history of the Basotho nation.

A brainchild of Karabelo Maama, a student at the Limkokwing University of Creative Technology, sharpened by renowned Lesotho historian, Kalusi Ramakhula, the wall has a remarkable narrative of the past and the recent historical events that have shaped this country.

“We’re grateful and honored to be part of this important event which is celebrating and honoring the heritage and story of Basotho people. We have navigated adversities with courage. We should be very proud…This remarkable project of private entity (Pioneer Mall) teaming up with the government and the creative people, is a shining example of what can be achieved when we all work together for single goal,” King Letsie III observed when giving remarks after cutting the ribbon with Her Majesty Queen Masenate Mohato Seeiso.

Also in attendance were the honourable ministers of education, Professor Ntoi Rapapa and Motlatsi Maqelepo of arts and culture.

An estimated number of 5000 patrons are expected to grace the wall every month to feast their eyes.
