Maseru – Team Lesotho returned home on Tuesday after a stellar performance at the African Union Sports Council (AUSC) Region 5 Youth Games held in Windhoek, Namibia. The national delegation, comprising athletes across various sporting disciplines, clinched an impressive 13 medals, showcasing the country’s growing talent in youth sports.
The team was officially welcomed on Wednesday at a ceremony hosted at Scripture Union in Maseru. The event drew senior figures from the country’s sports administration, including Lesotho Sport and Recreation Commission (LSRC) president Baba Malephane, Lesotho National Olympic Committee (LNOC) CEO Morake Raleaka, and the Principal Secretary from the Ministry of Sport.
In a show of determination and talent, Lesotho’s athletes shone particularly in athletics and boxing, with additional success in Special Olympics and table tennis.
