Set to kick off next month, the annual competition, proudly sponsored by Alliance Insurance, will for the first time feature women’s football teams alongside the traditional men’s sides. This progressive move signals a new chapter for women’s football in Lesotho, offering the country’s female athletes a long-overdue platform to showcase their talent. Since its inception, the Alliance Challenge has been a highlight of Lesotho’s football calendar, attracting thousands of supporters and football enthusiasts. Traditionally contested by four top-tier men’s teams being Lesotho Correctional Service (LCS), Lioli, Matlama, and Linare, the tournament has grown to be more than just a competition, embodying a spirit of unity and community engagement.
