LEWA Boss Fired After Explosive PAC Hearing!

Lesotho Tribune can confirm that the Acting Minister of Energy, Hon. Mohlomi Moleko, has dismissed Mr. Makotoko Makotoko as Chairperson of the Lesotho Electricity and Water Authority (LEWA) Board of Directors.

The dramatic decision comes in the wake of LEWA’s appearance before the Public Accounts Committee (PAC), where the regulatory authority faced intense scrutiny over alleged governance and operational irregularities. While official reasons for the dismissal remain under wraps, senior government sources suggest the move is directly linked to issues raised during the PAC session earlier this week.

Mr. Makotoko, who is also chairperson of Road Fund had served at the helm of LEWA’s board, now becomes the latest high-profile figure to be removed under Moleko’s interim leadership at the Ministry of Energy.

LEWA is expected to issue a formal statement shortly.
